Hey there! As you've noticed, I haven't been posting in this blog lately. That's because I have another blog! Here's the link: http://imanadeleon.tumblr.com/
That blog is my very first fashion blog and you'll see that I update that one more often than this one. So if you're curious about what's been happening lately to me and what kind of style I have, then go on and click the link above.
I'm not sure if I'll still keep this one because I know for sure that I won't be updating this one in the near future. But for times keepsake, I think I'll let this be and let's just see what would happen in the future.
I have great news!!! Waaah!!! Ok, before I tell you about the good news, let me tell you first how i started my day. Well, today was such a disaster (or so i thought)! I woke up at 7:20am when I'm suppose to wake up at 6 'cuz I have to prepare for church. Originally, I didn't need to wake up that early since church starts at 9 but because I always take a long time preparing that's why I needed to wake up that early. Ok. So I woke up late today and so my schedule was a mess. I had to hurry up and that caused me much delay. Why? Because whenever I'm hurrying I can't put together a proper outfit. So I had to change 3 times and yet I still wasn't satisfies until it was already time to go. I went out with a messy hair and a very fail outfit! To top it all, we had to commute because my dad isn't here and the weather was so damn hot! When I got to church, I was all sweaty and icky. I tried fixing everything in the CR but I couldn't do much do the whole time I was grumbling and whining at my friend. Then after church we went to SM Centerpoint. That time, my mood was much better already so I happily went along with my mother, 2 shotis and my lil' cousin. After eating, we did some shopping and here enters my good news. My mother bought me my first ever Converse! I was so happy that I found a great pair that I really like! And that's how my mood lifted up. Here's a pic of my new Converse:
You must be wondering why that was my first pair. Well, to be honest I'm not a fan of rubber shoes. For me, rubber shoes are just for sports and they look weird for me when worn somewhere that doesn't relate to sports. I don't have a rubber shoes of my own since I don't really need one because I don't have PE class so whenever I really need to use one, I just borrow my mom's pair. Now, I decided to have my own because there's a slight chance that I might have to stop attending dancing class and attend PE instead. Still, I didn't want to use my mom's Sketchers cuz' I don't like how it looks when I wear them w/ my PE uniform so I chose Converse instead. And I never thought that I would like them this much! I'm going crazy! For sure in the next few weeks, you'll see me wearing them when going out. Haha I'm currently thinking of possible outfits for them already! So crazy... Well, that's my good news. I'll probably get my 2nd pair soon and I'm going to buy them using my own money. Hehe
You saw the title. Yep. These sure did banged my head that i got addicted to them again. What am i talking about? Heh. I'm talking about: HEADBANDS! After a long time, i got addicted to it again after cutting my own bangs. Yep. I cut my own hair. That was an achievement for me! You see, I treasure my hair so much so i had a hard time deciding whether to go to a salon or just cut my own hair. If I went to a salon, chances are they'll give me another weird bangs (that usually happens to me) but if i cut my own hair I wouldn't have anyone but me to blame when i failed. Hence the risk, I went for the cutting-my-own-hair decision and surprisingly, it went well! Here's a pic of my new bangs:
sorry for the poor quality...i'll make it up to you later. Let's go back to the title. So yup, I got addicted to headbands again and here are my pics wearing some of my headbands:
ok...nevermind this one. Obviously, you couldn't see the headband.
And here's me wearing my first ever long feather earring. To be honest, i just made that...i was just playing around with an old dangling earring of mine that i just found yesterday and a hairband with a couple of dangling feathers. I thought, why not take the feathers off and connect it to the earring 'cuz the hairband looked weird w/ it. So there! That's how i made that earring. Cute noh? This someday I'm going to go for a bohemian vibe. It'll be a fresh look for me 'cuz i always look somewhat ladylike whenever i go to church. My classmates in Sunday School must've gotten tired of my usual look so why not try a different one, right? Well, that'll be all. Uhm...I just posted 3 of my headbands, one of them is a fail though. I still have four more so i'll try to post those too. Hopefully, I would be able to keep my promise this time.
Today was just wonderful! I went to SoFA's Open House today and I've had a blast! Finally I've seen what my dream school looks like! Hehe... Yah. I'm going to take Fashion Design in college. I've been thinking about this for three years now (since 1st yr) and I finally decided that that's really it. Now what's left for me is to persuade my dad. It's a little bit hard but I'll manage. After all, it's for my future. Anyways, SoFA's facilities were cool. I got to see their design studio and started craving for their sewing machines. And guess what, I saw Amina Aranaz (owner of ARANAZ bags) and Danilo Franco (just the best fashion illustrator in the country!) in SoFA! How cool is that? Really wow! When Amina entered the room, all eyes were on her. And the people who really knows her were all giddy. There was this one guy who I thought were really going to stand up and walk up to her to shake her hands. haha he was so funny! Back to the topic. *ahem. Sorry. My words were all messed up so let me organize it for you.
First, they talked about the school. Well, School of Fashion and the Arts is The Phil's first specialized fashion college offering a full range of extensive and short programs in design, merchandising and business. Phil. Rep of Europe's leading design school, Istituto Marangoni Partner of Project Runway Philippines 1 & 2. Last night I researched Instituto Marangoni and I found out that it's #7 among the top fashion school in the whole world! hehe just a little boost... Ok. They also talked about how their curriculum works. Amina gave a brief explanation on some of the lessons they teach. My favorite was the one about Fashion Illustration. She said that you don't need to be an expert in drawing in order to become a fashion designer 'cuz when you enroll there, they're going to teach you the basics all the way to the difficult parts. She also mentioned a SoFA student interning w/ her whom she asked to design an embroidery design for one of her bags. Then this girl told her that she were laughing at her mom when she showed her the design Amina chose because she used to be bad at drawing but after studying in SoFA she got the hang of it and even got to design a embroidery design for Amina's bag. Ok. Then after that, we had an open forum. I was reluctant to asked questions because aside from the fact that my mom and I arrived late, we were seated in front beside the speaker's table. Good thing some of the people asked the questions that I wanted to asked so everything was covered. After that, they gave away the list of the rates and some fliers. Then we proceeded to the tour. That's how I got to see Danilo Franco! He was overseeing a couple of students who were working on their projects. Watching them was inspirational! I imagined myself in the future in their place stitching away and it was so nostalgic (is it the right word?). I really can't wait to become a SoFA student!
I'm currently watching this show: Jane by Design and I'm totally digging it! Starring Erica Dasher as Jane Quimby. It's about a teenage girl who lives a double life. One of high school and one of high fashion. She landed a job at a hip retail company called DonovanDecker where she was mistaken for an adult. She finds herself juggling both life as a regular high school girl and an assistant to a high powered executive in the said company.
The series is so amazing! It helped me know what goes on in the fashion industry and the life of a designer. hehe this is really perfect for a girl like me who's aiming for a fashion career. If you're still not convince then why don't you watch it yourself. Click here to watch http://watchseries.eu/serie/jane_by_design.
Summer is here!!! Once again it's the time of the year where people hit the beach and travel to different places. It's also the time to ditch the blah uniforms and into your smoking hot summer outfits! Speaking of outfits, I came up with a theme for this summer: Vintage Safari!!!
This summer, you'll probably see me wearing denims, stripes, animal prints and vintage peices. Just wait for it. I'll be posting my outfits here. hehe. Have a nice vacation guys!
Hey there! Since it's a new year (I know it's already MArch but allow me to say this) and June 2012 would be the last year of my high school life (Hello college!!!!) i would like to upgrade my blog into a much more mature one. And since I'm going to take up a fashion career, I'm going to turn this blog into a fashion blog!!! I'm going to be serious this time. I promise. Though i know that creating a new blog is really tempting right now but i decided to keep this one. In the future, I would like to look at my previous posts and see how I've improved in the past years. And that'll be all...
Oh I just lurvvvvvvvvvvvv the HOLIDAYS! This year I'm conducting another Christmas Party at my house. The last one was two years ago and I only have, I think , 10 guest and the rest were my parents' guests. But this time I'm going to have 20 guests! Double FUN!!! I really think that this time it's going to be memorable 'cuz CARAMEL is coming!!!! YEHAYYYY!!!! If you're wondering who's this Caramel, well he's just my super duper cute crush with the killer smile that could melt me like a sundae on a really hot day! Sigh. I can't wait for Dec 23!
This year I received a lot of gifts and it's not yet Dec 25! I really felt that these are meaningful gifts that came from meaningful persons who really cares a lot for me. This is the first time that I didn't mind the size or wrapper of my gifts. 'Cuz I usually complains whenever someone gives me a gift that is wrapped horrible and wrapped with really disgusting gift wrappers. What can I say? I'm just really meticulous! As I was saying, this time I appreciated all the gifts that I received recently. Well, I think recently I've become sentimental. Was it because I finally learned how to appreciate my friends? Weird, but I like it. I'm really happy that God made me realize that. That's why this Christmas, I'm really going to thanks him since it's Jesus' birthday and everything. This year has been amazing and I hope it keeps getting better as each day passes.
Hey there! Long time no see! Yeah...let's get to the point. (*ahem*) I just wanna let you know that I finally figured out that thing that's been missing. Well, I hope you remember who and what you were before you crashed 'cuz I certainly do. Yeah you remembered almost everything, but what about that missing piece that's been bugging you for quite sometime now? Don't you think that's important? Or should i say: Don't you think he's important? To tell you the truth, I really don't care who or what he is to you. 'Cuz as I've seen so far, he certainly doesn't make the cut. Now, don't take this wrongly but I just have to say this. I know you took the trouble of trying to remember why he is important to you but he's just not worth it. You understand? Of course you don't! What the heck am I thinking? I'm talking to you; A person so stubborn and naive. How do I expect you to understand? You don't even understand yourself! Look how easily you are moved! You're so stupid that you might just choke on a vegetable! I love you and I just want you to be happy. Just forget about that missing piece. We'll just replace it w/ another one. OK? Why am I doing this? It's because you keep eating things that you can't digest! Like that vegetable! Who in this world would ever choke on a vegetable but you. It's just so simple. Why can't you understand it? There's a whole lot of food on the table, why choose this one? You don't even like vegetable for crying out loud! Enough of the food talk! You're making me hungry. Anyways, if you understood what I told you then my mission's done. If not, then I would just have to make you understand next time. You got it?!
That's all for now.
P.S. Make sure to bring water with you whenever you eat something, especially if it's a kind of vegetable.
August. As usual, my school always prepare something for that special occassion. Last year was lavishly prepared that's why this year we just layed low. But that didn't stop us from enjoying Buwan ng Wika. The Filipino department of High School organized a contest for each level. Since I'm already in third year, Speech choir was given to us. Each section must have their own representatives. I was one of the representatives of our class and not only that... I was also the director. The third year was given a peice: Kayong mga Naghuhugas... It was written by our own adviser himself. Well, I can say that the competition was intense. Each section was determined to win especially us, since our adviser was the author himself. The peice was given to us as early as July to give us enough time to prepare. For me, I couldn't say that the time aloted was enough because the day before the actual performance, I was still busy making the costumes and finishing the choreography for the peice. Sigh. Good thing I have my members to help out. Our adviser also helped in our voice and acting. Before we parted that day I told myself: We can do this!
Day of the performance. Our class was so busy preparing for the performance. While us, the representatives, rehearse the whole peice, the rest of the class were preparing the props we're going to use. We even borrowed our LE period so that we could prepare ourselves properly. Then, the time came finally! We were called to go up to the Little Theater with 3- 8. Before entering, we prayed first. Then Kyle Plaza told us no matter what happen that day, we just have to enjoy ourselves. Then that's it. After the performance, I was very confident that we'll win because I know that we did great. That afternoon, ma'am Brual told me that we got 2nd place! Gosh!! I could've have died there. After all those hardwork and stress...finally! It has paid off!!! Hahahahaha That day was the most hectic, busy, stressful yet fun day ever! I hope there's going to be more in the future.
Here are the pictures during our practice:

When you ask ordinary people what is dance for them, they would say: it's for entertainment, a hobby or it's just a compilation of moves and actions, but try asking REAL dancers. You won't hear them saying those things. Dancing for them is something significant and it's already a part of their mind, heart and soul. I for one agree with that. When I dance, I don't think that it's just for fun, entertainment or just something to pass time. Dancing is a way of expressing myself. Ever since I was born, dancing has already been attached to me. My mother is/was a dancer so it's already in my blood. She didn't force me to be a dancer. I decided it by myself. I told myself: As long as I am alive and breathing, I will continue to dance. I love the feeling of music flowing through my every being. It's also the reason why I am thankful that I am alive. God gave me this talent and I thank him for that. That's why I always treasure the time I use when I am dancing.
Here are some of the dance I've performed:
This one is an example of 'Maskara Festival' dance that we performed in school during our Filipino month. Of all the dance that I've performed this one is the most scandalous! Why scandalous? After the dance, my classmates kept on teasing me and my partner for two or more months! It was so irritating and annoying!
I'm the onw wearing a blue glittery top and shiny miniskirt just behind the girl in red.
I'm the one lifting my left foot
The first three pictures is G6 and the others is Fireworks. I like our dance in G6 because the steps are so me plus it's Hip Hop (I love Hip Hop). The dance in Fireworks is amazing! The effects of the fans are so exhilarating! Totally breathtaking. I didn't know it was that awesome while I was dancing but when I saw the pictures...wow! I love this!
This one is performed during our graduation ceremony in Taiwan Study Tour. We performed lots of dance there but I couldn't find the pictures so I can't show you. Sorry. The best thing about about this dance (the one on the two pics) is that I get to be partners with my crush! There was a waltz part so we had to hold hands and embrace! Weeeee!!!
I am also a part of our school CDT- Chinese Dance Troupe. We do diff. kinds of Chinese dances, Hip hop and Jazz. We usually perform during school programs, Alumni reunion, Gala Nights and programs outside the school like in SM X. We also join competitions like the one in YMCA. Sadly, I wasn't part of the group. They won first place.
Just by looking at the pics you already have an idea on what kind of dance they performed. It was a thrilling experience, well that's what they said.
Gala Night Poster
That day we performed a collection of dances we performed. This concert was meant as a farewell gift to our teacher who is going back to China this coming April. Although some of the dances was a disaster (for us at least), I'm glad that it turned out ok. Actually, we didn't expect a lot people to come but we were surprised that the auditorium was almost full. It was a veru fun day for us Chinese Dance Troupe!
That's all for now. I'm going to keep updating this one 'cuz there's going to be more dance! See you next time!
